Putting Love Into Action

Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Discipleship is a journey of growing in love for God and love for others.  True love always involves action—it is a verb! That’s why, as individuals and as a congregation, we put a premium on gathering in worship, growing in groups, and serving in missions. We are known for not only what we say, but for what we do locally, regionally, and internationally. Those that come to Advent truly are the hands and feet of Christ, serving in any way they can.

Advent was chartered in 1987 in preparation for the anticipated growth in the Five Forks area. As our zip code has grown, so have we; and thirty years later we are a large, vibrant congregation from a variety of backgrounds.

The best way to get to get to know us is to come visit us!

We know that people experience God through different styles of worship, so we strive to do both traditional and contemporary worship with as much excellence as possible, offering God our best.

Sunday Mornings

For most people, Sunday morning worship services are the first introduction to Advent. Each Sunday morning we have three services in our Sanctuary:

8:30 am Traditional Service
9:55 am Contemporary Service
11:15 am Traditional Service

When should I arrive?

Typically, you should arrive about 15 minutes before the worship service starts to allow plenty of time to make your way to the Connecting Space and Sanctuary, get a bulletin, have a cup of coffee, and find a seat. You may want to arrive a few minutes earlier if you need to take your children to Children’s Worship or to the Nursery.

Our Guest Services teams, wearing How May I Help? badges are located at all the Connecting Space entrances, will welcome you and answer any questions you may have! Our Ushers will provide you with a bulletin and any other handouts for the service and are available to help you and your family find a seat.

What should I wear?

Our congregation spans a range of ages and backgrounds. The pastors wear robes for the traditional services but business casual in the contemporary service. You’ll see people in the worship space dressed in all styles—from jeans to business attire.

Where do I park?

Parking is available in marked spaces all around our campus and in a parking lot behind our Christian Life Center at the back of our property. Our Parking Team members will be wearing yellow vests. They are available to assist you with parking in the most convenient space available.

Who can help me find my way around the church and campus?

In addition to Parking Team Members, there are Guest Services teams at all the entrances of the Connecting Space and Sanctuary. Our guest services teams where How May I Help badges. There is also a  Next Steps desk in our Connecting Space where someone is happy to answer your questions and provide you with more information about Advent. Should you need help finding your way around our campus, please do not hesitate to ask one of them. They will gladly show you to your destination. If you’d like to preview our campus map, you can download and print a map at your convenience.

Where can I bring my child for Nursery Care on Sunday mornings and/or Sunday Morning LifeGroups for children and students?

Sunday Morning LifeGroups for students are located in the Christian Life Center. Sunday Morning LifeGroups for children and our Nursery are located in the Education Building on our campus. Upon arriving to the Education Building, there is a Visitor Check-In where one of our Advent Kids greeters will be able to help direct you to the appropriate classroom.

Children ages 6 weeks–3 years are invited to participate in our Nursery Ministry. Children are cared for in a warm, loving environment by fully trained caregivers. We ask that all bags be labeled and no food other than formula or breastmilk be brought into the nursery.

The Nursery is located in the Education Building. Upon arriving, there will be a check-in station for Advent Kids where one of our Advent Kids Greeters will be able to greet you and to help you navigate our campus.
