On February 8th, during a renovation project, our sanctuary caught fire and burned. What we hoped would be a short-lived stint in our Christian Life Center gym has now been extended for an undetermined length of time. However, we firmly believe that God meets us wherever we are and invigorates our worship wherever we gather, so we certainly hope that you will come worship with us and experience the ways God is moving among us at Advent UMC.
For most people, Sunday morning worship services are the first introduction to Advent. Each Sunday morning we have three services in our sanctuary:
Typically, you should arrive about 15 minutes before the worship service starts to allow plenty of time to make your way to the sanctuary, get a bulletin and find a seat. You may want to arrive a few minutes earlier if you need to take your children to Children’s Worship, Sunday School, or to the Nursery.
Greeters in the sanctuary will welcome you and provide you with a bulletin and any other handouts for the service. Ushers will be available to help you and your family find a seat.
Our congregation spans a range of ages and backgrounds. The pastors wear robes for the traditional services but business casual in the contemporary service. You’ll see people in the pews dressed in all styles—from jeans to business attire.
Parking is available in marked spaces all around our sanctuary and in a gravel lot behind our Christian Life Center/gym at the back of our property. Our Parking Team members will be wearing yellow vests. They are available to assist you with parking in the most convenient space available. There are spaces marked for First-Time Visitors in the lot closest to Woodruff Road and on the side of the sanctuary building.
In addition to Parking Team Members, there are Greeters and Ushers in the area leading into our sanctuary. Should you need help finding your way around our campus, please do not hesitation to ask one of them. They will gladly show you to your destination.
