Advent Teams Participating in Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimers

Advent Teams Participating in Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimers

The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s is held annually to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.  Alzheimer’s disease is the 6th leading cause of death in the United States.  Every 66 seconds someone in the US develops the disease.  A donation will help provide care and support not only to those living with Alzheimer’s but also to their caregivers.  Your generosity will also help advance the research that will ultimately CURE Alzheimer’s disease.

Advent members are participating as part of Team Nick in honor of Pastor Nick Elliott and also the general Advent UMC team on October 7th at Fluor Field in Greenville.  Get your family and friends together and come walk with us or click either link to sign up as a virtual walker and make a donation!

Blanket Drive for Triune Mercy Center

Blanket Drive for Triune Mercy Center

Brrrrrrrr!! Are you starting to feel the chill in the air? Winter is just around the corner. There are so many who do not have the warmth of indoors, sleeping out in the cool, dark night with no shelter to help keep them warm.

The Gleaner’s Sunday School Class is sponsoring a BLANKET DRIVE for Triune Mercy Center, and you can help by donating a warm blanket!

There will be a large box at the Dining Room entrance of the Christian Life Center that will allow you to drop your donation/blanket in on the 8th and 15th of October. Blankets will be given to Triune on the fifth Sunday in October,  which is the same day when Advent will be serving the meal.

Triune suggests twin and double size blankets because the recipient will have to carry this blanket with them as they move about each day. NEW AND/OR CLEANED USED BLANKETS ARE ACCEPTABLE.

What is the latest update on the building?
We had plans for a new building (to house a large connection/fellowship space outside the sanctuary, staff offices, and choir and band rehearsal areas) which would connect to the existing sanctuary.  After the fire, our Building Committee spent some time researching whether we should move forward with construction on […]

The care team continues to serve through prayers, cards, meals and prayer shawls. Please reach out to us at [email protected] to learn more about how we serve our congregation.
