Extending the Table for May ~ Transform a Child’s Future
Each year, Epworth Children’s Home provides care to children in our own communities who have experienced abuse, neglect, and loss. Epworth’s care breaks the destructive cycle and encourages children to aim higher in life. Each child receives the physical, emotional, academic, and spiritual care they need to transform their lives. This care makes a difference. It develops long-term healing, self-worth and self-confidence. It transforms children who are three years behind in school into honor roll students, high school graduates, and college […]

Celebrate Sermon Series
A Message from Laura-Allen Kerlin, Associate Pastor
On Easter Sunday, we gathered together to celebrate. Christ is Risen! The celebration of the day included big music, lilies, and communion as we sang and shouted praises to the Lord. Did you know that Easter is not simply one day? In the church, we celebrate the Easter season, which lasts for 50 days.
For the next few weeks, we are going to celebrate. Our next sermon series is Celebrate: A Series on Faith, Hope and Love. We have so many things to celebrate at Advent. The […]
Habitat’s Faith Build Recap
By: Karen Schulz
Growing up, our home was always buzzing with activity – classmates over studying, neighborhood kids playing ball in the front yard, epic birthday parties that were the envy of the town, the ladies from circle gathering for prayer group, special guests for dinner, or just friends popping by to say a quick hello. Everyone who came over was welcomed with open arms, fed (even if they weren’t hungry!) and encouraged to come back soon. We never knew from one minute to the next how many people would be […]
Advent Strong is a term that has become special to the Advent family. Our students introduced us to this term and the whole Advent family has embraced it! Realizing that we were very fortunate that no one was burned in the fire to our sanctuary, some of our students felt called to do something for burn victims. Bringing the Advent Strong theme together with this desire, the Advent Strong shirt has been created! ALL PROCEEDS will benefit burn victims! Order yours now online by clicking here:
