Director of Facilities and Technology


The Director of Facilities and Technology must be a Christ-led, mechanically and technology minded ministry leader who can care over Advent UMC’s facilities, grounds and tech teams in order to fulfill the mission of our church. The ideal candidate is a committed Christian and self-starter with experience managing properties and leading tech teams to sustain and expand the mission of the church.


Manage the utilization, maintenance and cleaning of all church grounds and buildings.
Oversee all IT operations for Advent UMC to ensure excellence in technological experiences for church and staff.
Develop, manage and adhere to annual budgets for all facilities and technological needs.
Develop engaging relationship with Trustees for identifying infrastructure and technology needs.
Manage property insurance policies for the best interest of Advent UMC.
Manage relationships with contractors, subcontractors, vendors, etc. to best support all church ministry.
Regularly review facilities and technology contracts/agreements to ensure best arrangements for the church.
Coordinate and manage all outside groups utilizing church facilities/grounds and ensure proper facilities use agreements are in place.
Provide servant leadership for volunteers in areas of responsibility. (Tech Team, Trustees, Serve Events, etc.).
Stay up to date with church technology trends and make recommendations reflecting those trends to support Advent UMC mission.
Recruit, develop and deploy volunteers for the advancement of facilities and technologies.
Participate in all staff meetings and staff retreats.


Bachelor’s Degree and 5-10 years of experience managing properties, technology and teams.
Experience in church ministry settings is preferred.
Excellent verbal communicator: Comfortable speaking with outside groups.
Able to speak the truth in love and deal wisely with conflict amongst the staff and the broader church.
Broad knowledge of current trends in property management, maintenance, mechanical and technologies.
A growing personal relationship with Christ.
Able to provide detail oriented plans for initiatives and lead teams to deliver desired results.
Stated willingness to operate within our church’s statement of beliefs and staff covenant.
A lifestyle congruent with the biblical requirements for leaders (1 Tim. 3:1-13; 2 Tim. 2; Titus 1:5-9).
